The Second Born Child of Gideon Bell Forbes and Susan Acling Forbes, was My Grand Mother, Bettie Duncan Forbes Beckham. She was born July 13, 1909 and died January 24, 2004. Her Husband, MY Grand Father, was Lang (mid) Middleton Beckham born September 18, 1901 and died March 18, 1983 . My first name James was named after my Father James and my middle name was named after my Grand Father's middle name Middleton.

About the Family Roots

My Grand Mother lived, as a child, on Indian Island, Camden County, on the North River along with her family. They were farmers living off the land. The Farm was owned by her Grand Parents and later was passed down to her parents, Gideon and Susan Forbes, along with Gideons brother's and sisters.  They eventually moved to Cedar Key, Florida which was a monumental task back in the 1920's because it took more than one month to travel there. That's where my Grand Mother met my Grand Father Lang (Mid) Beckham.  My Mother was born in Cedar Key, Florida August 7, 1927 and is still living today, July 31, 2006.
